Pinewood Medical Laser offers JUVEDERM® Ultra and JUVEDERM® Ultra Plus

How does JUVEDERM® differ from BOTOX®?

JUVEDERM® (a dermal filler injection) and BOTOX are used to correct wrinkles in different ways.

Dermal fillers are injected below the skin surface, adding volume and hydration to smooth deeper wrinkles and folds in the lower face resulting in a more natural, youthful, appearance.  Juvederm can also be used to enhance the fullness of the lips and contour facial features that have lost their fullness due to aging, sun exposure, illness, etc.

BOTOX is typically used to treat the wrinkles in the upper half of the face.  BOTOX temporarily relaxes muscles so when it is injected into specific facial muscles it has the effect of relaxing the contraction of those muscles.  Read more about BOTOX.

JUVEDERM® and BOTOX are often used together to enhance each other and maximize the desired overall effect of restoring a more youthful and well-rested appearance to the face.

What is the procedure for scheduling an appointment for injections?

An in-office consult is required prior to injections.  At that time, a health history will be taken and your goals will be discussed.  One of our specialists will discuss the most beneficial treatment in an effort to assist you in achieving your goals.  Your injections may be administered during the consult visit or an appointment will be scheduled.

Will I see the results immediately?

JUVEDERM® injection results will be seen immediately.

How long do the injection results last?

JUVEDERM® injections last up to one year.

Are these injections covered by my insurance?

Dermal filler injections are strictly voluntary cosmetic procedures and therefore not reimbursable by government or private health care insurers.
