How does JUVEDERM® differ from BOTOX®?
JUVEDERM® (a dermal filler injection) and BOTOXare used to correct wrinkles in different ways.
Dermal fillers are injected below the skin surface, adding volume and hydration to smooth deeper wrinkles and folds in the lower face resulting in a more natural, youthful, appearance. Juvederm can also be used to enhance the fullness of the lips and contour facial features that have lost their fullness due to aging, sun exposure, illness, etc.
BOTOX is typically used to treat the wrinkles in the upper half of the face. BOTOX temporarily relaxes muscles so when it is injected into specific facial muscles it has the effect of relaxing the contraction of those muscles. Read more about BOTOX.
JUVEDERM® and BOTOXare often used together to enhance each other and maximize the desired overall effect of restoring a more youthful and well-rested appearance to the face.
